Gain New Donors and Boost Gift Size Now with Free Widgets
By Susan Lasker Dankoff
Would you like to attract more new donors and larger gifts in 2018? Acquiring new donors in today’s competitive market can be difficult and expensive. And, with the new Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, many charities anticipate the need to attract more major gifts, as fewer individuals itemize their deductions.
Two new free tools can help you meet these fundraising challenges. One enables prospective donors viewing your GuideStar profile to donate right from that page. The other allows supporters with donor-advised funds (DAF) to make gifts directly from your website—it’s as simple as using a credit card online.
1. Add a Donate Button to Your GuideStar Nonprofit Profile
Add a free Donate button to your organization’s GuideStar Nonprofit Profile. It will give donors and prospects researching your group a convenient way to donate to your nonprofit—while they are on your page! For easy to follow instructions on how to add the button, Read More.
2. Add a DAF Button to your own website
In 2016, individuals contributed $23 billion to donor-advised funds and recommended grants to charities of their choice of almost $16 billion. The average DAF gift was about $4,000! Thanks to software creator MarketSmart, you can add a button to your website that will let donors give to you directly from their donor-advised fund. The free DAF widget makes it convenient for donors to access their own fund from more than 800 established donor-advised funds.
